Began setting up at Neil's house about 9pm. Porblems, problems getting everything up and functioning properly. I should not have been surprised. It has been almost 6 months since I did any serious deep sky imaging. It reinvorced my need to get the system organized with cord management.
Once I got polar aligned and the system aligned, and the objects centered in the frame, it was midnight. Then I had repeated episodes of system failure. Suddenly the CG5 would stop and revert to the original pre-alignment position.
The goal was the Leo Trio: M65, M66, & NGC 3628 When it was done I had 35 subs at 3 minutes per sub and 5 dark frames.
The resulting image is a step backwards for me. The focus is off, collimation is off on the scope, and my processing skills have grown very rusty. At any rate, here it is.
M65, M66, NGC3628:
35 frames at 3 minutes per frame. 32 frames were used, along with 5 darks.......I still have no Flats or Bias frames.
