Note to self
: Self, avoid imaging on nights like last night. Transparency? Uh uhhhhhh. Dark sky? Not a chance. The 3/4 full moon, street lights and car headlights made it a poor night for imaging. 2nd note: Get a light shield to keep stray light off the secondary mirror.
M57: Started with 87 frames at 30 seconds per frame, but tracking issues sent a bunch of them to the recycle bin. On top of that, the scale is too small. I am still looking for a good quality image of this object. This one isn't it. 37 minutes Interestingly, I had to tone down the histogram for this image (unusual). The Ring was blown out in the original stacked image.
Need more time. I am not sure why I even tried this object with the poor conditions, but hope springs eternal I guess. I should have gotten a hint, when I could barely see a ghost of the galaxy in a 60 second exposure. Tracking issues, light gradient, poor detail in the galaxy spiral. 58 minutes
