Not a good night. My mount is definitely not functioning properly.....something is wrong. It's never been totally accurate, and the tracking has always been barely adequate, but now it's really bad. Either something is binding up inside or the electronics have a problem. Not sure which.
At any rate, I managed a couple of images. I am not happy with them, but they are the best of the lot, I'll post them.
1. Plato region, non-barlowed
2. Plato 3x barlow
3. Straight wall 3x barlow
Easy to see that the 3x barlowed shots are not sharp......need more aperture. A 3x barlow on the webcam is the equivalent of about 790x........too much magnification for my 4" scope.
I hate to keep using poor 'seeing' as an excuse, but I think last night was probably legitimate......at least according to the Clear Sky Chart. Looks like the same for tonight....light clouds at times, poor seeing and transparency.
