A night's work......ahhhhhh, "fun".
I continue to struggle with the tracking and object "go to" on my scope mount (Celestron NexStar 4se). The Go to is always off by about 1/2 of the finder field of view. I have to be able to see the object in the finder, to center the object in the scope's field of view. This is fine with the brighter objects, but is a real trial and error frustation for the dimmer objects.
Tonight I started out about 10:45pm with some video of the moon. I then moved on to Jupiter around midnight. The seeing was barely adequate for un-barlowed clips. When I tried to use the 2x Barlow, all I got was fuzzy images. Lots of heat waves.....even distorted the moon's edges.
Around 2:00am 7/9, I managed to locate M92, and captured 4 imaging sequences. The best ones were 50-60, eight second images.....automatically aligned and stacked during capture. I wish the camera (Meade original DSI color) had better resolution. Processed in Photo Shop Elements.
