The sky was about 75% clear at approx. 11:00pm. I carried my 80mm refractor out (on my Celestron 4se mount), did a fast "solar system alignment" and then punched in M81. I was actually able to see it in the small scope, but barely.....required averted vision at first. I wasn't able to find M82. Before I could do a better alignment and set up my imaging equipment, the clouds had reduced the clear sky to about 50%.........and it looked like it would be down to 25% in a few minutes. I gave up and put everything away. Very frustrating!
