Welcome to André's Online Astronomy Journal.
Hello, I am Andy and I am interested in astronomyand radio astronomy.
I have been a shortwave listener for quite some time and became interested in the sun when I found out about the relation between the sun cycles and radio reception. My interest in astronomy rose thanks to some nights out, spectating Cassiopeia, the shades on the moon and drawing another sketch of the big dipper while listening to the shortwave radio.
I am using a Bresser Mars Explorer NG 70/700 telescope, which is pretty good for my needs but I enjoy to just lay outside and stare to heavens above, too. Only downside is, that I still have to build me a suitcase for the scope because I don`t like transporting it in the original paperbox.
I am interested in cooking, gardening, motorsports and the technical side of shortwave reception. Recently, I got the book "22 Radio And Receiver Projects for the evil genius" by Tom Petruzzellis which started to rise my interest in radio astronomy. I am looking forward to try out a couple of the circuits of this book.
Favorite Sky Object
My favourite sky object is Cassiopeia without a doubt. It fascinates me to no end just sitting there and watching Cassiopeia.
